Usually with self-hosted survival crafting games like this there’s just an anti-cheat toggle somewhere. No reason to have anticheat running when you have a four person private server with your friends, after all.

Really hope it’s a winner - Funcom makes great games! And they keep the servers running, year after year (20+ now for Anarchy).

Mutant road to Eden is very good! Secret World has an epic story, but sadly it never got the break through it deserved. Metall Hellsinger, also a very good game (Overwhelmingly positive on Steam) - love the music! Anarchy Online, doesn’t need any presentation:) Conan - loved it. Dreamfall , another one with an epic story line.

      What’s wrong with Funcom?

I thought Conan Exiles was decent. Not great, but fun enough. That’s my only exposure to Funcom afaik.

Secret World, though janky, was quite good and really unique. Before they fucked it up with the relaunch that is.

Still love AO, best skill/ability implementation I have seen to date along with character gearing. But yeah they just fucked it up over time.

Quite enjoyed The Secret World beta and even ordered based on my beta experience and that went to shit pretty quick unfortunately. Never bothered with anything from them since, but I will play the Project Rubika from guys who are reverse engineering AO

Edit: I was also hoping they may reignite my love of AO with doing some similar stuff in Dune, but the gameplay I’ve seen so far is really garbage. I’m playing a Chinese survival game which is free to play with (currently) no pay to win monetization, lotsa bugs aaand I’d still rather continue playing that over what I saw from this Dune game
