I really like .ing, just feels satisfy.ing, I regret never grabbing a .sexy, I was always tempted, but I am not paying the current prices (Think those who bought before the increase have original renewal prices)

Got a .cc for my home-lab, and a very cheap .li for a website I’m building. Other than that i got .de, .eu and .com for my name and my kids names. Don’t know if they’ll ever use them, but meh, a .de is a few cents per month.

I kinda like it lol, if there was a federated game of some kind Id prob buy one. A game with federated chat could be cool, so you can chat when not playing.

    .sucks

I maintain that this was made purely as an income stream for registrars. Every single company and brand should be rushing to buy companyname.sucks. Every town buying yourtown.sucks. Every political candidate getting into bidding wars over candidate.sucks or opponent.sucks.

I’ll go with .zip because it’s so stupid, it’s funny. It’s like selling .pdf or .docx and expecting zero shenanigans.

But in all seriousness, I like .website. It’s short and to the point. This is my website.

Doesn’t it require identifying yourself or something? I saw the warning and moved on.

.com it’s cheap, it’s available, I don’t have to worry about a country pulling the thing out from under me, it’s standard in people’s minds (people don’t know what a URI/URL is, but they know what a .com is immediately)

Sometimes I just assume two letters are countries ive never heard of and it feels wrong to use their domain, like I feel wrong using .ca canada for california based sites, because the assumption for anyone who knows is that its canadian

I’ll only really use .com or .net, with the exception of .cc, which are for short domains.

    .ch

    • Renewal is cheap, even if the domain is short
    • No particular requirements for registering
    • Automatic WHOIS lookup is disabled
    • Easy domain hacks
    • Decent reputation, ranks low in mail spam rate
