Although this is off topic, there appear to be a lot of highly intelligent and engaged people here.
So my question is: if you’ve started a substack (or know how it works), how do you raise your profile or attract potential readers/subscribers?
The site is akin to Onlyfans for writers - people labouring under the delusion that they’ll get rich (or famous) producing content.
But there are so many people competing with each other for attention and/or subscribers, it is difficult to get noticed or maintain readership.
I was hoping to post some of my articles on Reddit, but many Subreddit mods (and users) appear to have become understandably wary of shitkickers like myself. They promptly delete (or ignore) attempts to get people to read our content.
So how are writers supposed to build readership or attract potential subscribers? Anyone know how to game Substack’s system or use its algorithm in their favour?
Any suggestions/advice welcome.
