I guess they are seeing what is happening to other DEI-heavy games. Pendulum swung too far into one direction and it’s starting to come back.
Yall can dislike all you want, but we all know a lot of people out there are not fans of DEI ideology. You can say they are wrong, you can say they are immoral, but that doesn’t change the fact people have started to have serious negative feelings towards DEI stuff - and companies are noticing it.
Companies want money, they don’t give a shit about DEI. They only have a shit about it when it was beneficial to them and their pocket. DEI went hard when it used to pump their stock cause ESG and shit - it ain’t like that no more. People are starting to dislike it and it’s only gonna get more intense.
As time goes on DEI will be affecting company earnings negatively more and more - and thus they will stop the DEI stuff. SIMPLE.
It’s true and we all know it. Love or hate DEI - it’s increasingly declining, and the simple reason is - common man ain’t a fan of it.
Other DEI heavy games like LoL, that have been wildly successful for years.
That’s true. Also look at Marvel Rivals.
Good, I stand with them 100%. This Dei stupidity has gone far enough
Sir you can’t have this opinion on Lenmy/reddit. I fully agree with you that this forced DEI bs has to stop, but you can not say this stuff here without being down voted. Once again, I fully agree with you, this can’t blow over soon enough.
Thanks, and I don’t care about all the leftists/activists that live in their enclosed world that think that DEI works when it’s proven, in every company and product made, that it doesn’t.
Let them keep crying 😂
In all honesty, I don’t care if a game has an agenda. Just if it’s relevant and well written
If it doesn’t, then it’s not really art, it’s it? It’s just a mass-market commercial product.
Even the Avengers movies, everyone’s favorite garbage media, include social and political commentary.
It’s already not art and just mass market commercial products.
Let’s be honest, the companies allowed inclusion of the DEI and social/political commentary because they didn’t think it mattered not becuase they actually care about such issues. Now they think it might affect the bottom line they don’t want their devs doing it anymore. But they were hardly marketing and selling games based on this stuff.

No. They included this stuff because they thought it would make them more money. Now they think excluding it will make them more money.
It was always about the bottom line.
