Is this something that people have favourites?

I bought mine because it was cheap, and that all there is to say about it. I’ll dig out the brand and model, but they were completely unnotable.

    Edit: Korad KD3005D

If you were building another lab, would you buy it again? If yes I’d say yeah that’s maybe not favorite, but definitely in the good enough category

Lab is not the right description, I have an assortment of eclectic tools.

Its been fine, unless there was something cheaper, would buy again.

I recommend the KORAD KA3005D. It’s a reasonably priced, relatively small size unit with great controls.

Edit: Am using it in my home lab as well as my current and previous work environment (among other power supplies).

Do you use those extra buttons for memory and over current/voltage set? I see there’s a model kd3005D with two knobs instead of buttons. It seems like one knob got current and one for voltage is all I would need but I’m not sure.

I remember setting the memory buttons up, but I don’t actually use them. The KD3005D is probably fine, too. Personally, I’d still prefer fine-adjusting voltage and current via the incremental encoder and pushbutton of the KA3005D. The price difference around here is ~20%.
