Sure, but it’s healthy to take a break and not be fixated on politics. It should be possible to currate a list of subscribed communities that don’t talk about politics at all. For example, someone might only view their subscribed communities instead of all and only see:
I’m assuming they mean they want an experience that isn’t dominated by politics. Which I totally understand and I agree with. It would be great if there were lots of active communities that were around hobbies and interesting and fun casual things. I guess that can only be achieved by reaching a certain scale though.

This one is the same issue I mentioned where it only applies to communities that you’re not subscribed to. Funnily enough I commented on that issue and the bug reporter said they had the same issue, but the bug reporter from the first link said it’s slightly different for them.
Either way, there’s some funkiness with comments not showing up from a local instance.
I’ve switched over to Voyager from Sync and I agree about the UI. It’s fine but Sync is just prettier and also smoother to use. I miss being able to swipe from the left to bring up the sidebar for communities.
I’ve tried loads of clients and none come close to Sync in terms of UI and performance, but unfortunately it’s buggy (main gripe for me is not being able to see comments on communities from my own instance that I’m not subscribed to), and the app developer seems to have abandoned it.
Nope, it’s just by accident. Must be a certain demographic that seems to have fallen into the habit of saying it as I never hear people use “on” in real life.
I think they’re calling you out on saying “on accident” rather than “by accident”
Wouldn’t it have been better to tell the gift giver that you’re really happy that they thought if you, but for security/moral reasons you don’t want to install it? At least they could have returned it and got their money back.
