So 5 leagues wasn’t even the limit for him, he could have discerned their hair color at an even greater distance.

…and right when the newest Nvidia gpus struggle with physx. I don’t think there is much future for the technology, but I’m happy if some dedicated people surprise me.

Damn I didn’t know the driver situation is that bad in Windows. I’m using my 7900xtx on Linux with absolutely no issues for over a year now.

But with Linux being popularized by Valve and the steam deck I can see a shift happen where the average consumer might just get a Linux device, fingers crossed.

People just keep buying Nvidia, so no need for them to change. AMD has a pretty small share of the GPU market, and Nvidia makes the majority of their money with gpus for data centers anyways.

We can only hope there’s a bit more competition in the future

This is the kind of mindset that prevents mass adoption of Linux. Sure the terminal should be available but there still should be distros catering to less tech-savvy people if we want the year of the Linux desktop to arrive at all. Some governments are looking to replace Windows with Linux, and you cannot expect the average desk worker to know or even care about doing stuff in a terminal.
