Racism isn’t just for white folks. And even pre-British India really really cared about skin tone.
People just don’t seem to get the “totem pole logic” that goes into this. Lots of people who don’t belong to the “top group” still support the system because they’re still towards the top of the pecking order.
Lots of people are fine with a caste system if it guarantees they’re always be above a lot of other people.
